Director: Vishal Mahadkar

Producer: Mahesh Bhatt (Vishesh Films)

Cast: Kunal Khemu and Amrita Puri.

Mahesh Bhatt’s movies are always looked upon with bated anticipations for the music they weave. The last film that came out of Mahesh Bhatt’s Vishesh Films was Murder 2 last year. With a mediocre response to the soundtrack and an average acceptance of the film, Mahesh Bhatt had treaded on a new path this time. A territory that was untamed few years back has suddenly gained a hiatus in B-town. All thanks to Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and others who have been making films adapted from the South. Today, there is an increasing amount of hysteria over tracks that are belted and carved out of regional movies. Be it Dhinka Chika (from ‘Riinga Riinga’) or the peppy Chikni chameli item (from the famous foot tapping Marathi ‘Kumbri Pallali’), regional music is rocking charts this season. And how could ace producer Mahesh Bhatt not cash in on that?

He did exactly what he should have, making an album with an artistically and creatively gifted Music composer from Bengal, Jeet Ganguly to enhance the flavour of the season. Most of the songs from the album are upbeat and most importantly carry the essence of the popular Bengali soundtracks, composed by Jeet himself.
