The team of upcoming film Ek Deewana Tha has cleared the air over the song Hosanna, which is a part of the flick. British model and actor Amy Jackson, who stars in the movie said that being a Christian, she has been chanting hymns since the age of five and never felt that the song would hurt people’s sentiments. “When I heard this song for the first time, it touched my heart. It’s a beautiful song,” says the
21-year-old.
The chief executive officer at Fox Star, Vijay Singh, also tried to clear the controversy surrounding the track. “The position is very clear on this. We have a censor clearance for the song in the film,” he says.
“The final authority of the law of the land is the Censor Board, so we will never do anything which is wrong or which goes against the law in this country. We are looking for support from the media and the people,” he adds.
The song, composed by AR Rahman, got embroiled in a controversy when a Catholic community called Catholic- Christian Secular Forum (CSF), wanted the removal of the word Hosanna from the song, claiming that it would upset the religious sentiments of Christians and Jews.
